Granite Hitching Post, six feet long, but 30″ into the ground, found in Conyers, Georgia

Description

Attention Horse lovers! Circa 1800’s, this hitching post was used to tie your horse to, generally at the front of the house. Salvaged from a business in Conyers/Rockdale County, Georgia. A full six feet long, 30″ of it is buries in the ground. Worked square and tapering down, it measures 6″ square at the top and expands to 10″ square above grade. It’s probably 15″ square at the bottom 30″ down. Worked on all four sizes, metal loop in top has been replaced. Weighs approximately 550 lbs.
